Zoom Vojtech confident of a points finish

The OMV BIXXOL Rally Team will be represented by two teams at the finale of the FIA Production-Car World Rally Championship at Rally Wales GB. For the first time this season both OMV pairs stand realistic chances for scoring points. Stepan Vojtech and Michal Ernst have reached their best WRC-result by fifth place in Ireland. And after Claudiu David/Mihaela Beldie had proven their talent at the WRC-run in Japan they once more gave a great performance at the OMV Rally Waldviertel by finishing in eleventh overall place.

In Argentina the Romanian OMV duo David and Beldie celebrated their WRC-premiere. In Japan they were already about to score when they drifted off the road three special stages before the finish and dropped back to twelfth place.

“We know that it is possible to reach the top-eight," said David. "The Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX by Stohl Racing are perfectly prepared. We should be able to keep up even if this rally is new to us. The conditions won't differ very much from the ones at the OMV Rally Waldviertel. And we were able to keep up there.”

One thing is already certain prior to the WRC finale in Wales: Stepan Vojtech is the best OMV driver in the P-Car WRC during the last three years. By finishing sixth in Mexico and fifth in Ireland the OMV BIXXOL Rally Team has already won seven WRC-points this year. And they plan to add to this account at the Wales Rally GB.

“We are very confident since we've got used to the speed in the WRC quite well," said Vojtech. "We actually had the opportunity to score points at each rally this year. Unfortunately we only managed to pull it off twice. But: all good things come in threes. Therefore we will try our utmost to score points in Wales, too."

360 special stage kilometres on 17 special stages The Wales Rally GB will commence on Thursday at 19.30 local time at the Cathays Park Cardiff. 17 special stages with a length of 359,54 kilometres are scheduled from Friday to Sunday.

The overall length measures exactly 1.271,94 kilometres. The whole rally will be completed on gravel. The super stage on Saturday in the Millennium Stadium is expected to be the absolute highlight. With a length of 1,1 kilometres it will be the shortest special stage in the championship. The finish line will be crossed on Sunday at 15.10 at Cathays Park Cardiff.
