Grönholm to play a part in Rally Portugal safety
|
Rally Portugal 2008 can count on one more high-level participation of sorts as double World Champion Marcus Gronhölm will be the first on the road, driving a Number "0" Ford Focus WRC and helping to increase safety during the event.
Retired from regular competition after completing the 2007 World Rally Championship season, Grönholm was delighted with the ACP's offer and immediately accepted the new responsibility.
He will therefore add his contribution to increasing the safety of the Portuguese event, second round of the International Rally Challenge to be held in May.
"It's an honour coming back to Portugal to cooperate with a high-level organisation in one of the best rallies of the world," Grönholm said.
The Finn explained that his participation
"will help essentially to prepare the spectators to the coming of the rally cars."
